Mixed Alcohols
The purpose of the project is to determine a thermochemical process for the production of renewable mixed-alcohol fuels made out of biomass. The advantage of the mixed-alcohol process is the simple cleaning process of the producer gas due to the non-sensitivity of the catalysts against sulphur. Cost savings because of the simple gas cleaning process make this process very attractive.
In the R&D-building Güssing a pilot plant was built, enabling a series of tests successfully finished.
